Motorway fees are very high for what they are actually offering. They charge almost as much as the auctions yet don't appraise or handle the car. The general public will happily sell a vehicle with hidden issues to a motor trader, yet will be straight down to citizen advice if someone did the same to them!

Just bought a BMW Phev, 1st time using any kind of charging point, can I just rock up and pay with a card or do I need to set up accounts?

I am not sure motorway is all that good anyway, i was selling via them, winning bid from a dealer was high, when their collection person came they wanted over £900 off for some minor stonechips on the screen. They also had a crappy clause in the buying contract, supposedly all their dealers must be well established and buying many cars via them.

It is an interesting car. There is defo a need for more small cheap electric cars, hatch backs & such. The EV market has way to meany massive SUV's which defeats the point of an EV in the first place.

This reminds me of the early days of the Chops Garage channel, where he bought mostly from BCA and used Warrantywise. Very interested to see how this venture goes, and I presume that you have room on the driveway for the stock rather than have to rent premises, which is crippling? Hope all goes well and will enjoy this new thread of videos.

Banks are mainly living in the past still believing they can charge whatever they want and take their time to actually do the work you are paying them to do. I spent many years in business having to deal with these sort of institutions, just an annoyance

In May of 2024, I bought a 2021 Nissan Leaf with 28,000 miles on it. It looks and runs like new with 100% showing on the battery health meter. It cost me a total of $11,500. The cost was $15,500 minus $4,000 tax credit under the Inflation Reduction Act (here in the USA.) Check the rules for the $4k credit BEFORE you buy. You'll need to buy from a dealer as opposed to a private party, and it has to be a certain age, mileage, etc. DON'T sign the purchase contract until you FIRST get the dealership's Tax ID number which you will need for your taxes and getting the tax credit. If you buy and try to get the dealer's tax ID after, good luck. Once they have your money, they tend to ignore you.

Quite simply the worst EV in History. No regen, basic outdated and pathetic range, horrible in winter and battery depletes at an alarming rate. AVOID. Needs at least 10 hours to charge.

So what's the car worth when battery has degraded and needs replacement? No one has talked about the value of the car when it is nolonger drivable. My guess is it will be worthless. That is the ONLY reason I am still very hesitant. I really want the Gen 1 i3 Rex but not fully convinced it is wise a choice budget wise albeit they are cheap at the moment. Maybe there is a reason why. Someone convince me otherwise. Cheap to buy now but worth nothing later.

I bought my 2014 i3 Rex with 50k miles for $$14k USD in February 2023. I have replaced -tires, 12v battery, clock spring, spark plugs, fuel pump relay, air filter for cabin, and did 2 oil changes. Most of that work was done by friends. The only thing I don't like about war is small battetin winter. I live in Chicago.

We have the i3S. We wanted to get into the EV market in a sensible way and as a long term Audi A2 owners the i3 absolutely appealed to us. Both cars are revolutionary in their own way. The Audi with its aluminium construction and the i3 with its Kevlar tub..... we continue to drive both cars side by side but they are different beasts. The A2 delivers long range and frugal consumption. The i3S is even cheaper to run especially as we almost charge it for free from our house solar system. My wife wasn't convinced with the i3 but a few months later it's impossible to keep her out of it. It's light, it's responsive, it's quiet, it's cheeky but best of all, she hasn't visited a petrol station in the past year. For anyone reading this do not under estimate the i3, they are brilliant bits of kit but be careful, the range extender models are not ULEZ compliant, something that could have been mentioned here.
